Our police officers and members of the Ronkonkoma Fire Department showed immense courage and heroism during the incident where an infant overdosed on fentanyl. The bodycam footage released by the Suffolk County District Attorney depicts the paramedics administering life-saving measures to the child, who had ceased breathing and was unresponsive for approximately 40 minutes.
A member of the Suffolk Police's Medical Crisis Action Team (MEDCAT) administered an overdose reversal drug to the infant, allowing the child to finally take a full breath and cry. Their quick thinking and decisive actions were crucial in saving the infant's life in a critical moment.
