Erick Garcia, 22, of Central Islip, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and weapon possession for fatally shooting Carlos Guillen during an attempted robbery in October 2022. Garcia lured Guillen to a meeting, attempted to rob him at gunpoint, then shot him when Guillen tried to escape. Garcia fled to Florida after the crime. He faces up to 25 years in prison and is scheduled for sentencing in August 2026.
