Joel Badger, 20, of Medford, was sentenced to 22 years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit murder and armed robbery. He was involved in a long-term gang investigation into the Bloodhound Brims, a violent street gang. Badger participated in a conspiracy that led to the murder of schoolteacher Kimberly Midgette in Hempstead in April 2024, mistakenly believing she was a rival gang member. He also pleaded guilty to robbing a victim at gunpoint in September 2023. The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, and all 31 defendants charged in the case have been convicted.
