WEST BABYLON MAN SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS IN PRISON FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING A CHILD

A 29-year-old man from West Babylon was sentenced to 25 years in prison after being convicted by a jury in May of sexually abusing a child between ages nine and 12. The abuse occurred during Zoom calls in 2020, where the defendant, considered a family friend and "uncle" figure, showed the child inappropriate images and videos and inappropriately touched himself. The victim, who was 12 at the time, eventually disclosed the abuse in 2024, leading to the defendant’s arrest. He was sentenced in September 2026 and is required to register as a sex offender.
