PATCHOGUE EMPLOYER CHARGED WITH WORKERS’ COMP INSURANCE FRAUD

Joseph Arthurs, owner of VGN Enterprise Corporation in Patchogue, has been charged with workers’ compensation insurance fraud for misrepresenting his company’s payroll and safety risks to secure lower insurance premiums. He allegedly underreported the number of employees and the hazardous nature of the work, resulting in a fraud of over $160,000. Arthurs was arraigned in September 2026 and released on his own recognizance. The case is ongoing, with court dates scheduled for September 21, 2026.
