In a major vehicle theft and fraud ring called Operation “Gingerbread Man,” 35 individuals and two companies were indicted for stealing and reselling over 120 vehicles across several counties. The ring, led by half-brothers Mark McCall and Keith Agard, used forged documents to purchase cars with little or no payment, then obtained fraudulent “clean” titles to resell the vehicles, netting about $5.5 million. McCall and Agard pleaded guilty to charges including enterprise corruption and weapons possession; McCall faces up to 10 years in prison, while Agard was sentenced to 1-3 years. Many other participants also pleaded guilty, with sentences ranging from months to a few years.
