A Heroic Response By our Officers!

The Suffolk PBA proudly recognizes Officer Thomas Ciota, Sean Roche, Steven Rathjen, Michael Magioncalda, and Ryan Kelly for their swift and heroic response on Tuesday. When a 53-year-old Shirley woman's vehicle veered into the Forge River after breaking through a guardrail at Hampton Avenue and Riviera Drive in Mastic, these officers displayed remarkable courage.
Without hesitation, they entered the water, braving the elements, and successfully rescued the woman from her submerged vehicle, ensuring her safety. Following the rescue, the woman was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue to treat minor injuries. Fortunately, our officers emerged from this incident unharmed, a testament to their dedication and training.
