- A Selden man, 68, has been found guilty by a jury of multiple counts of sexual abuse against three of his children over a 13-year period, from 1997 to 2010.
- Richard L. Wolffe, Jr., a 39-year-old man from Bay Shore, New York, was indicted for possessing over 5,000 images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children, some as young as infants.
- The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office has appointed Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Dellinger as the New York State Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor.
- Brian Cordovano, a 50-year-old man from Ronkonkoma, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the double homicide of Ian Saalfield and Robert Julian in April 2022
- A 33-year-old man from Copiague has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for the rape of his 9-year-old stepdaughter.
- Juan Chuquimarca Guzman, a 20-year-old from Shelter Island, has been indicted for promoting and possessing child sexual abuse material after allegedly uploading over 4,000 videos and images of such content to a cloud service
- Willie Curry, a 36-year-old man from Brentwood, has been indicted on charges of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his ex-wife more than 20 times in a McDonald’s drive-thru on November 2, 2024
- Benjamin Sheen-Waltzer, a 32-year-old man from Southampton, has been indicted for leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in the death of 67-year-old Angel Asitimbay from Hampton Bays.
- Richard L. Wolffe, Jr., a 39-year-old from Bay Shore, has been indicted on multiple counts of possessing child sexual abuse material.

NEW YORK — Safety and staffing challenges are front and center in a new report calling for major changes at two of New York City's juvenile detention centers.

The city's Department of Investigation outlines a troubling pattern of detainee misconduct, criminal activity and lack of staff control since the implementation of bail reform and New York's Raise the Age legislation, which says 18-year-olds can be tried as adults.
