See the letter below addressed to Chairman Grassley of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The Honorable Charles E. Grassley
Senate Judiciary Committee
United States Senate
Washington, D.C. 20510
Chairman Grassley,
We write to you in support of the nomination of Mr. Kash Patel for the position of Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Mr. Patel's extensive experience in public service, particularly at the National Security Council and the Department of Justice, makes him an excellent candidate to lead the FBI. Mr. Patel worked on key programs that support local law enforcement including the Edward J. Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (Byrne-JAG) and the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS). These programs display his commitment to fostering partnerships between federal and local law enforcement and showcase his support for local police who serve on the front line.
The FBI's mission of safeguarding and serving all Americans relies on strong leadership that emphasizes operational effectiveness and teamwork at all levels. This position requires someone who will uphold the United States Constitution and apply the law in a fair and impartial manner. Mr. Patel's proven success in tackling complex national security challenges and his strong conviction to follow the rule of law makes him the ideal person for this role.
On behalf of the Suffolk County Law Enforcement Coalition, representing over 5,000 active officers in New York, we urge you to confirm Mr. Patel's nomination. We believe that his leadership will significantly enhance the Bureau's operational capabilities, uphold its distinguished legacy, foster innovation, strengthen its collaborative partnerships with local agencies and refocus the Bureau's priorities on what matters most, protecting the American public.
Sincerely,
Louis Civello, President
Suffolk County Police Benevolent Association
On behalf of:
Screening Committee
