Raul Ayala, 51, has been indicted for the 2003 murder of 88-year-old Edna "Timmie" Schubert in North Bay Shore, New York. Schubert was found brutally beaten in her home, and despite an extensive initial investigation, the case went cold. In 2023, retired detective Pasquale Albergo reignited the investigation, leading to the discovery of matching fingerprints and DNA evidence from the crime scene linked to Ayala, who lived nearby at the time. Ayala was arrested in Georgia in January 2025 and faces multiple murder charges, potentially resulting in life imprisonment without parole if convicted.
