Michael Parise, a 49-year-old resident of Selden, has been indicted for committing a series of commercial burglaries across Suffolk County, New York. Over a period of nearly three months, from November 2024 to February 2025, Parise allegedly burglarized ten businesses, including restaurants, fitness centers, a hair salon, an animal hospital, and a bagel shop, stealing approximately $7,413 in cash and a cellphone.
The businesses targeted were located in Smithtown and Brookhaven, with Parise reportedly gaining entry by smashing glass doors or windows. He was also accused of attempting to burglarize an eleventh location and stealing from a donation box at a McDonald's.
Parise was arrested on February 2, 2025, after attempting to break into the Peking Chinese Kitchen. He has been charged with ten counts of Third-Degree Burglary, one count of Attempted Burglary, one count of Petit Larceny, and one count of Criminal Mischief. He faces possible prison sentences of 3.5 to 7 years for each burglary count if convicted. Parise is currently being held on a bond set by the court, and his next court appearance is scheduled for March 20, 2025. The case is being prosecuted by the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.
