MEMBERS OF THE SUFFOLK DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE WILL JOIN VICTIMS’ FAMILIES, DA’S ASSOCIATION AND COALITION MEMBERS IN A RALLY TO CLOSE DRUGGED DRIVING LOOPHOLES
|
|
Members of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office will participate in a rally alongside victims' families and over 50 organizations to support the "Deadly Driving Bill," aimed at closing loopholes in New York's drugged driving laws. Currently, New York is one of only four states that requires a drug to be listed in statutes for a driver to be charged, which allows impaired drivers to remain on the road without facing repercussions. This is the second rally in Albany for the bill, which failed to pass last session despite significant support.
