R.I.P. Police Officer Brian Elliott

On February 17, Police Officer Brian Elliott was tragically shot and killed in the line of duty while responding to a domestic disturbance call in Beech Grove.
At approximately 6:00 p.m., Officer Elliott and a fellow officer approached an apartment on Diplomat Court when a suspect opened fire from inside. Both officers were transported to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital. Officer Elliott succumbed to his injuries a few hours later. The suspect was taken into custody by responding SWAT officers later that evening.
Officer Elliott had served with the Beech Grove Police Department for over a year and previously dedicated four years to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. He leaves behind his wife and parents.
The Suffolk County PBA stands in solidarity with his loved ones and the entire Beech Grove Police Department during this time of profound loss. His service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.
