Ridge Man Sentenced To 23 Years to Life for Murdering Ex-Girlfriend

James Quininchetta, 41, of Ridge, was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to murdering his ex-girlfriend Rebecca Roth outside her Moriches apartment in June 2025. Quininchetta fired seven shots at Roth, who was inside her vehicle, due to a perceived financial debt. He was arrested the next day after police recovered the firearm and ammunition. Quininchetta pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and weapons charges in January 2026.
