STATE CORRECTION OFFICER INDICTED FOR CRASH THAT SERIOUSLY INJURED PREGNANT WOMAN AND KILLED HER UNBORN CHILD

Andre-Marcel Devieux, a 28-year-old correction officer from Amityville, was indicted for a high-speed crash that seriously injured two people and resulted in the death of a pregnant woman’s unborn child. The crash occurred on December 28, 2025, when Devieux, allegedly driving at 106 mph and running stop signs, collided head-on with another vehicle. The pregnant woman, seven months pregnant, was injured and doctors were unable to save her baby. Devieux faces multiple charges, including assault and reckless driving, and is held on bail. He is scheduled to appear in court again in April 2026.
