Adam Chrzanowski, a 45-year-old Polish national from Riverhead, was extradited from Poland to face charges for a 2022 drunk-driving crash in Cutchogue that killed Elizabeth Post. The crash involved multiple vehicles, with Post suffering severe injuries and passing away months later. Chrzanowski fled the U.S. in March 2024 to avoid prosecution but was apprehended and returned. He faces multiple charges, including aggravated vehicular homicide and drunk driving, and is currently remanded without bail, with potential sentences of up to 25 years.
