UNLICENSED CONTRACTOR AND HIS CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS INDICTED FOR CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A FORGED INSTRUMENT

Robert Cortese, an unlicensed contractor from Huntington and owner of Tool Time Construction, Inc., was indicted for allegedly forging a Town of Islip building permit in 2021 to fraudulently obtain approval for a pool and pool house project. Cortese did not hold a valid license and reportedly never filed the necessary permit applications. He is charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and faces up to 7 years in prison if convicted. Cortese has a separate pending charge for operating as an unlicensed home improvement contractor. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 5, 2026.
