VENEZUELAN NATIONAL INDICTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER FOR A STABBING AT GILGO BEACH

Ruben Guanipa Ramirez, 26, a Venezuelan national, was indicted for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing an acquaintance at Gilgo Beach. Ramirez drove the victim from Queens to the beach, where he attacked him from behind with a knife, attempted to slit his throat, and caused multiple wounds. The victim managed to wrestle the knife away and escape. Ramirez was arrested later that day, with knives, rope, duct tape, and other materials found in his vehicle. He faces charges of attempted murder and assault and could face 5 to 25 years in prison. He is scheduled for court on April 29, 2026.
