Former Melville attorney Michael Tulchiner was sentenced to 90 days in jail and five years of probation after pleading guilty to stealing $413,237 from a real estate transaction in 2022. Tulchiner, who was responsible for handling his client’s mortgage funds, re-deposited the money into his account instead of paying off a client’s loan, and used it for personal and business expenses. He was ordered to pay full restitution and to forfeit his law license. The case was prosecuted by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
