Miguel Enrique Astudillo Ruiz, a 24-year-old Salvadoran national, was indicted for possessing a loaded gun in his vehicle at Nissequogue State Park. The firearm was found during a search after park rangers observed suspicious activity. Fingerprint evidence linked Ruiz to the weapon. He faces charges that could result in up to 15 years in prison, and U.S. immigration authorities plan to pursue his deportation.
