CENTEREACH MAN INDICTED FOR DRUNK DRIVING CRASH THAT SERIOUSLY INJURED DOT SUPERVISOR

Joseph Kalinowski, 54, of Centereach, was indicted for drunk driving after crashing into a Department of Transportation worker on the Long Island Expressway, causing serious injuries including a traumatic brain injury. He allegedly ignored a road closure and drove intoxicated from Jericho to Centereach on February 26, 2026. Kalinowski faces multiple charges and could face 5 to 15 years in prison if convicted. He is scheduled for court in June 2026.
