DEER PARK WOMAN CONVICTED AFTER JURY TRIAL OF ASSAULTING HER BOYFRIEND WITH AN EXPLOSIVE DEVICE

Keyonna Waddell, 35, of Deer Park, was convicted after a jury trial of assaulting her boyfriend with an explosive device, which resulted in him losing his hand. The incident occurred in March 2024, following an argument, when Waddell threw a dynamite-like object into his bedroom, causing it to detonate in his hand. She faces up to 25 years in prison and is scheduled for sentencing in May 2026. The case was prosecuted by Suffolk County authorities.
