Michael Dirago, 72, of Hauppauge, was indicted for selling fentanyl that led to the death of a 53-year-old man in Mastic. Investigators linked Dirago to nearly 1,000 fentanyl pills sold to an undercover officer, with tests confirming the pills contained fentanyl, xylazine, and tramadol. The overdose victim was found unresponsive in September 2024, and the investigation traced the drugs back to Dirago. He was arraigned on multiple drug charges and is held on a $30 million bond, facing up to 20 years in prison.
