BAY SHORE WOMAN SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF PAROLE FOR MURDER OF MAN WHO PARKED IN FRONT OF HER HOME

Kayla Alvarenga, 23, of Bay Shore, was sentenced to life in prison without parole for orchestrating the kidnapping and murder of Linver Ortiz Ponce, who was killed after parking in front of her home. Alvarenga directed co-defendants, including minors, to abduct and kill the victim because he parked in front of her house. The group stole and used two vehicles during the crime, and the victim was shot multiple times. Co-defendant Christopher Perdomo was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison after pleading guilty. Several other co-defendants have also pleaded guilty, and all participants have been sentenced.
