Rodolfo Alvarez, 35, of Central Islip, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and related charges for stabbing and strangling his wife while she slept. He was later arrested after causing a car accident while intoxicated, with a blood alcohol level over twice the legal limit. Alvarez faces up to 25 years in prison at sentencing scheduled for June 26, 2026.
