PRIOR VIOLENT FELON CONVICTED AFTER JURY TRIAL OF ARMED GAS STATION ROBBERY

Marion Maupin, 33, of Ridge, was convicted after a jury trial of first-degree robbery and related charges for robbing a Yaphank gas station at gunpoint with an accomplice. During the crime, Maupin pointed a loaded gun at a clerk and stole cash, then fled in a stolen vehicle pursued by police, leading to a crash and arrest. Maupin, a prior violent felon with previous weapons convictions, faces up to 25 years to life in prison at sentencing scheduled for May 28, 2026. His accomplice, Raiquan Davis, pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery and received a five-year sentence.
