HONDURAN NATIONAL INDICTED FOR FATALLY SHOOTING MAN BEHIND HUNTINGTON STATION DELI

Carlos Castro, a 27-year-old Honduran national, was indicted for fatally shooting Steven Rocco in Huntington Station. After the shooting, Castro attempted to flee the country, changing his phone number and hiring a driver to Texas. He was arrested in Alabama with the help of U.S. Marshals and extradited back to New York. He faces up to 25 years to life in prison and a possible deportation. His court date is scheduled for June 2026.
