Nashawn J. Legros of Wyandanch was sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by 5 years of post-release supervision, after pleading guilty to attempted murder and weapon possession for shooting a man in the chest outside Jake’s 58 Casino in May 2024. The victim was seriously injured, with bullets damaging multiple organs. Legros fired two shots at the victim, fled the scene, and was later apprehended. The case highlights efforts to hold violent offenders accountable in Suffolk County.
