SMITHTOWN MAN INDICTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER OF FAMILY MEMBER

Daniel Spector of Smithtown was indicted for attempted murder, burglary, and other charges after allegedly breaking into a family member’s home, stabbing the victim multiple times, and threatening to harm the victim’s child. The incident occurred on May 28, 2026, in violation of a court order, and involved Spector using a makeshift weapon. He also threatened to kill the victim and harm the child, who was hiding nearby. Spector was arraigned on June 10 and is remanded pending trial, facing up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
