SALVADORAN NATIONAL INDICTED FOR RAPING 16-YEAR-OLD CHILD

Antonio Melendez Reyes, a 59-year-old Salvadoran, was indicted for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Huntington. The assault occurred on June 6, 2026, after he approached her on the street, asked for her phone number, and forced her into an alley. She managed to escape, call 911, and was rescued by police. Reyes faces multiple charges, including up to 25 years in prison if convicted, and is scheduled for court on July 21, 2026. Immigration authorities have lodged a detainer to take custody of him.
