GILGO SERIAL KILLER SENTENCED TO THREE CONSECUTIVE LIFE SENTENCES PLUS 100 YEARS FOR MURDERING EIGHT WOMEN

Rex Heuermann, a Massapequa Park resident, was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences plus 100 years after pleading guilty to the murders of eight women involved in the Gilgo Beach case. He admitted to killing seven women between 1993 and 2010 and publicly confessed to murdering an eighth victim, Karen Vergata. The victims, aged 20 to 34, were strangled, dismembered, and their remains found along Ocean Parkway. Heuermann was arrested in July 2023, and his plea and sentencing conclude a long investigation by the Gilgo Homicide Task Force.
