Amar Corbin, a 25-year-old from Mastic, was convicted of strangling and injuring an 8-month-old baby in his care. The jury found him guilty of second-degree strangulation, assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. The child suffered bruises and injuries consistent with blunt force, caused by Corbin applying pressure to her face and chest. He faces up to seven years in prison at sentencing in July 2026.
