MASTIC MAN INDICTED FOR ALLEGEDLY STABBING 71-YEAR-OLD DURING A ROAD RAGE INCIDENT

Jeremiah Giraud, 25, of Mastic, was indicted for allegedly stabbing a 71-year-old driver in the neck during a road rage incident. The incident occurred on May 19, 2026, at an intersection in Mastic, after Giraud's vehicle honked at the victim twice. Following a brief confrontation, Giraud reportedly stabbed the victim in the neck with a knife before fleeing the scene in his car. The victim was hospitalized, and law enforcement recovered the weapon. Giraud was arraigned on charges including second-degree assault and is held on bail. He faces up to 7 years in prison if convicted and is scheduled to return to court on July 20, 2026.
