PRIOR VIOLENT FELONY OFFENDER CONVICTED BY A JURY OF SELLING NARCOTICS TO UNDERCOVER DETECTIVE

Ishmel Owens, a 34-year-old from Freeport, was convicted of selling cocaine to an undercover officer on three occasions in April and May 2025. This is his fourth felony and sixth conviction overall since 2010, including prior charges for weapons, robbery, and burglary. Owens sold small amounts of cocaine—ranging from about 0.06 to 0.13 ounces—for hundreds of dollars, and was caught after an arrest in Nassau County in January 2026. He faces up to 45 years in prison when sentenced on September 21, 2026.
