HAMPTON BAYS MAN FOUND GUILTY OF ASSAULTING TWO POLICE OFFICERS

Terrell Harris, a 39-year-old from Hampton Bays, was found guilty after a jury trial of assaulting two police officers during a confrontation in October 2025. The officers were attempting to arrest Harris for driving with a revoked license and active warrants when he fled in a SUV, led police on a high-speed chase, and then became violent, punching both officers repeatedly. Harris was injured during the arrest and is scheduled for sentencing, facing up to 7 years in prison on the top charge. He has a history of driving with a revoked license and warrants, and his actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for law enforcement authority.
