Officer Chris Racioppo leaves Stonybrook greeted by hundreds of fellow officers
Hundreds of police officers and supporters gathered at Stony Brook University to greet Officer Christopher Racioppo, as for the first time since the near-tragic incident, he was able to depart the hospital and return home with his family. This was a day to celebrate, but also a day to remember the sacrifice that was made by Officer Racioppo would be made by every member of the Suffolk County Police Department for the safety of others. We are thankful that Chris has recovered, and while he still has a long way to go until he is fully recovered, we applaud his fellow officers and whose quick actions, combined with the Good Samaritans, Doctors, and medical personnel at Stony Brook, saved his life.
