CENTRAL ISLIP MAN INDICTED FOR MURDER
Apr 09, 2025

Jeremias Anaribamoran, a 47-year-old man from Central Islip, has been indicted for the murder of 40-year-old Gustavo Godinez-Carcamo, following an alleged shooting incident that occurred after a verbal altercation during a social gathering on March 15, 2025. Anaribamoran is charged with Murder in the Second Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, facing a sentence of 40 years to life in prison.

The altercation escalated when Anaribamoran reportedly shot Godinez-Carcamo three times with a 9 mm pistol. The victim attempted to flee on foot to his nearby home but collapsed before receiving emergency assistance, ultimately being pronounced dead at the hospital.

After a police investigation, which included reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses, Anaribamoran was arrested on March 18, 2025, and subsequently allegedly confessed to the crime. He led police to the discarded murder weapon and the clothing he wore during the incident.

Anaribamoran has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to return to court on April 25, 2025, with the proceedings being led by Assistant District Attorney Eric S. Aboulafia from the Homicide Bureau.
