Christopher Miller, 43, of Dix Hills, has been indicted for the second-degree murder of his 75-year-old father, John Miller. The indictment follows a tragic incident that occurred on March 17, 2025, when Christopher was admitted to Stony Brook University Hospital after a car crash. The next day, John reported his son missing. An officer later located Christopher, leading him home, where they discovered John dead on the kitchen floor with multiple shotgun wounds and a shotgun nearby.
Christopher allegedly attempted to flee upon the discovery of his father’s body and was arrested at the scene. The police also reported that he tried to steal a landscaping truck. If convicted, he faces a sentence of 25 years to life in prison. Christopher was arraigned on April 1, 2025, and is scheduled to return to court on June 12, 2025. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
