Antwane Lee, a 31-year-old Bay Shore resident, has been indicted for Murder in the Second Degree following the fatal stabbing of 24-year-old Justin Evans after a verbal dispute. The incident occurred on March 30, 2025, at the Heatherwood Apartment Complex, where Lee allegedly used a large serrated hunting knife to stab Evans in the neck and torso. Despite efforts from medical personnel, Evans succumbed to his injuries.
After the stabbing, Evans sought help by banging on doors, but Lee eventually took him to the hospital and left him at the Emergency Room's entrance before fleeing in his vehicle. He later turned himself in to authorities. The police recovered a knife with a suspected blood trace at the crime scene.
Lee was arraigned on April 15, 2025, and is currently remanded in custody, facing a potential sentence of 25 years to life in prison if convicted. His next court date is set for May 14, 2025. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Michelle Chiuchiolo, with the investigation led by Detective Walter Sosnowski. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
