HUNTINGTON STATION MAN PREVIOUSLY INDICTED FOR CONCEALMENT OF A HUMAN CORPSE FACES ADDITIONAL CHARGES OF CRIMINAL SEXUAL ACT AND MANSLAUGHTER
Jun 02, 2025

Ronald Schroeder, a 41-year-old man from Huntington Station, previously indicted for concealing a human corpse, now faces additional charges including criminal sexual act and manslaughter. He is accused of sexually assaulting Seikeya Jones while she was unconscious and then suffocating her by falling asleep on top of her, leading to her death.

The investigation revealed that Jones’ remains were found in a suitcase outside an apartment on Nassau Road, after police responded to a suspicious activity call. Schroeder was arrested at Penn Station after law enforcement found drugs, cellphones, and a video on his phone allegedly showing him assaulting Jones while she was unconscious. An autopsy confirmed her death was due to asphyxia from smothering.

Schroeder was arraigned on multiple charges and is remanded without bail. He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted. The case is ongoing, with a court date scheduled for June 20, 2025. The prosecution is being handled by Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, with investigations conducted by the police.
