WEST BABYLON MAN INDICTED FOR MANSLAUGHTER

Jason Jean-Joseph, 24, of West Babylon, was indicted for second-degree manslaughter and related charges after allegedly fleeing police in his stolen vehicle, striking and killing pedestrian Hillel Fuld in Wyandanch. The incident occurred on June 13, 2025, when Jean-Joseph, whose license was suspended, sped away from a traffic stop, hit Fuld while he was walking, and then fled the scene. He later abandoned his vehicle and discarded a loaded pistol. Jean-Joseph was arrested on August 29, 2025, and arraigned on September 11, 2025, facing multiple charges, including manslaughter, weapon possession, and fleeing the scene. He is held on bail and faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted. The case is ongoing, with a court date scheduled for September 24, 2025.
