BARBADOS NATIONAL RECEIVES COMBINED SENTENCE OF 13 TO 29 YEARS IN PRISON FOR SEX TRAFFICKING AND DRUG POSSESSION

Michael Howell, a 65-year-old from Brooklyn originally from Barbados, was sentenced to 13 to 29 years in prison after being convicted of sex trafficking, promoting prostitution, and drug possession. He exploited a victim through drugs and violence between April 2023 and February 2024, forcing her into sex acts and taking her earnings. Howell was found with fentanyl and cocaine at the time of his arrest in February 2024. He will also be required to register as a sex offender, and there is a detainer for his deportation after serving his sentence.
