Brightwaters Woman Indicted for Allegedly Stealing Over $230,000 from Electrical Company

Christa Ramos, 57, of Brightwaters was indicted for stealing over $230,000 from her employer, Northeast Electrical Contractors, while also collecting over $40,000 in unemployment benefits fraudulently. She allegedly wrote unauthorized checks to herself and deposited them into her personal account, and falsely reported being unemployed to the state. Ramos was arraigned and faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted; her case is scheduled for court in November 2025.
