Yesterday, we remembered the life of Suffolk County Police Officer Vincent DeVivo, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty on this day in 1962.
While investigating a motor vehicle accident, Officer DeVivo was attacked by a suspect in custody. The assault tragically resulted in a fatal heart attack.
Officer DeVivo’s service and courage will never be forgotten. He was a devoted husband, father of two, son, and brother.
Our thoughts remain with the DeVivo family as we honor his memory and the sacrifice he made in service to our community.
