BRENTWOOD MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON FOR ASSAULTING A SUFFOLK COUNTY POLICE OFFICER

Cody B. Fisher, 29, of Brentwood, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to assaulting a Suffolk County police officer and related charges. In January 2025, Fisher, under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, sped away from a traffic stop on the Long Island Expressway, crashing into Officer Brendon Gallagher’s vehicle, which flipped over and caused serious injuries to the officer. Fisher was found intoxicated at the scene and refused a blood test, but blood analysis confirmed impairment. He was convicted of multiple felonies, including assault on a police officer and vehicular assault, and sentenced to a decade in prison with five years of post-release supervision.
