RIVERHEAD MAN SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS TO LIFE FOR MURDER

Brent Henry, a 61-year-old from Riverhead, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison after being convicted of second-degree murder and weapons charges for fatally shooting 23-year-old Ines Reyes in August 2023. The incident stemmed from a verbal confrontation and fistfight at a residence in Bellport and East Patchogue, which escalated when Henry retrieved a handgun and shot Reyes multiple times. Reyes died from his injuries, and Henry was arrested the next day. The case was prosecuted by Suffolk County authorities, and Henry was sentenced in November 2025.
