ISLIP TERRACE MAN INDICTED FOR ARSON

Paul Lucia, 60, of Islip Terrace, was indicted for second-degree arson and related charges for setting fire to Riley Fibbers Bar in East Islip after being asked to leave. The incident occurred on November 20, 2025, when Lucia allegedly returned to the bar with a gas can and lighter, ignited the fire, and then drove away. The fire caused damage to the exterior and kitchen of the bar. Investigators recovered evidence linking Lucia to the crime, including a stolen license plate and a gas can. He was arrested the next day and arraigned on December 9, facing up to 25 years in prison. His next court date is January 14, 2026.
