WYANDANCH MAN INDICTED FOR CHEMICAL ASSAULT

Douglas Graves, 42, of Wyandanch, was indicted for first-degree assault after allegedly throwing sulfuric acid on his girlfriend, causing severe chemical burns to her face and body. The attack occurred during an argument on November 16, 2025, and the victim required extensive medical treatment and future reconstructive surgeries. Graves was arrested later that day and is facing multiple charges, including assault and witness tampering. He is held on a $150,000 cash bail and faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted. His court date is scheduled for January 8, 2025.
