The Suffolk PBA honors the life and legacy of Police Officer Craig L. Capolino, who passed away on January 30, 2013, from 9/11-related cancer.
Officer Capolino began his law enforcement career with the NYPD, where he responded to the World Trade Center following the collapse of the second tower. Drawing on his investigative expertise, he was assigned to the arduous task of searching the debris at Ground Zero for human remains and criminal evidence.
In January 2012, Officer Capolino was diagnosed with cancer. He bravely fought the illness for one year before passing away in the line of duty.
Today, and always, our thoughts remain with his wife and three daughters as we remember his sacrifice, service, and enduring legacy.
