Constantine Sackos, a 59-year-old from Holtsville, was indicted for allegedly setting fire to Pazzo Ristorante and Wood Fired Pizzeria in Wading River. The fire occurred on November 18, 2025, and was believed to be arson due to multiple points of origin and evidence like lighter fluid found at the scene. Law enforcement linked Sackos to the crime through surveillance footage, witness accounts, and recovered clothing with accelerants. Sackos, who had been recently fired from the restaurant, had visited the owner’s residence demanding back pay before the fire. He was arrested on January 28, 2026, and faces multiple charges, including arson, burglary, and criminal mischief. He has been ordered on supervised release without bail and could face 5 to 15 years in prison if convicted.
